snackface Snack Break: 4th of July Snacks
The Fourth of July is a time for celebration, fireworks, sparkling rose, BBQs and snacks. And not just any snacks-- I'm talking particularly festive snacks. The kind of snacks that tons of research and marketing go into and Buzzfeed loves to cover.
I'm not here to tell you how to stay healthy on the 4th. I'm here to tell you which of the fun snacks you see on the Ralph's/Kroger shelves are actually worth a bite. Let's get right to it.
Nabisco Oreo Firework with Popping Candy: There's a new Oreo flavor every other day, but the best part about the Firework rendition is that it doesn't mess with the original Oreo flavor we know and love. All that's added is popping candy, and it's a welcome addition.
Would I buy them again? For a fun, festive party or cookout, for sure.
Kroger Prime Rib & Horseradish Potato Chips: First of all, I feel so comforted to see Kroger brand on the shelves here in Los Angeles. It makes this Midwest woman feel at home! ANYWAY. You have to try these chips and share them with friends if only to see their reactions. They bizarrely taste like prime rib & horseradish. Like, dead on, fresh off the grill. It's mind blowing.
Would I buy them again? It's hard to eat more than just a few of these (they are BOLD), but I would buy these again. I want everyone I know to try them just for fun.
Ruffles Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Potato Chips: I'll sum this up for you quickly: just buy the trusty Cheddar & Sour Cream. These aren't much different.
Would I buy these again? See above.
Nestle Drumstick S'mores Toasted Marshmallow with Fudge: Do not sleep on the Drumstick! In the world of conveniently packaged dessert snacks, it's a masterpiece. To differentiate this festive version, the chocolate coating has graham cracker crumbles in it, and the ice cream is marshmallow flavored. It's all delightful.
Would I buy them again? Yes, but now that I'm on the Drumstick website, I see many other flavors I also need to try...
The Original Bomb Pop: For those who want something lighter than, say, a Drumstick, the Bomb Pop is the way to go. They truly stand the test of time (although I could really do without the cherry, but that's a me vs. cherry thing).
Would I buy them again? At least once a year (for the 4th!).
Watch the YouTube video for the full reviews and facial expressions I can't control. Have happy and safe 4ths, angels!
Ciao for now,
Kailey
