Beauty Brunch: Full Contour and Soft Halo Eye

Three weekends ago, I spent my Saturday night watching two hours of YouTube tutorials and playing with my makeup. I was both prepping for Sunday's Beauty Brunch livestream and practicing.

Many people during broadcasts say, "I'm so bad at makeup. How will I ever do that?!" To that I say: PRACTICE. I've been applying my own makeup now for 15 years (which is not abnormal for anyone my age, I'm just saying that adds up!) and there are still things I want to get better at. So I practiced a full-faced contour on Saturday night and went full-steam ahead for Sunday's livestream.

The overall process went something like this: apply primer; apply foundation all over the face; conceal and blend with sponge; set with powder; apply cream contour in cheek hollows; forehead and on sides of nose and blend in with damp sponge; highlight top of cheekbones, bridge of nose, cupid's bow; press blush into cheeks just above contour.

Then, for the soft halo eye, I used a brown, matte shadow on the outer and inner corners of the top lid only. Then, I applied a shimmery gold to the center of the eye with my fingertip. I mimicked this on the bottom lash line as well.

I finished off the look with Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue in nude. I am OBSESSED with this. It's minty, applies like a balm and finishes like a gloss.
