The Pink Jacket
When it comes to style, I'm honestly pretty simple. Give me tees and jeans or give me nothing at all. I wear a ton of black, white and denim, and I feel safe in that space. I've only recently started to add baby pink to the rotation-- I can't get enough now.
I saw this pink bomber at an event for Pretty Little Things in the Hollywood Hills and instantly gravitated toward it. The Gucci-inspired birds almost made me pass it up, but to be frank, it was free, so why the hell not? Pink AND embroidering is a stretch for me, but what I've learned works is to layer new pieces with what's already in your comfort zone. That means: jeans plus tee PLUS jacket. Jackets are the easiest clothing item to experiment with. You literally try one on for size. If you don't like it, ditch it.
Moral of the story: if you're slightly afraid of mixing it up, take baby steps. Play with textures in colors you already love. Try a relaxed boyfriend jean if you love your skinnies. Top off your go-to outfit with a new jacket.
