Melrose Place: Alfred Tea Room

Welcome to the tea room Instagram built. Years after Alfred Coffee debuted on Melrose Place and became an instantaneous Insta success, the company pulled out all the stops for its tea-only iteration.

From neon lights to millennial pink (or, as it was formerly known, baby pink) tiles, every inch of the cafe is built to be snapped. And it should be.

I wandered into the pepto-tinted tea room on a hot summer day after sending off my S.O. to the Olympics for the next month. Needless to say, I was desperate for a distraction and matcha boba tea did just that.

Sip by sip, boba by boba, I found tea and sympathy tucked away on Melrose Place.

Some things you see all over your feed really aren't worth the hype (pointing a finger at many a disappointing burger here). This tea room, however,  is even better. Every sumptuous detail delights a little something in you. It has charm in droves.

Once you move past the dreamy interiors and get your hands on anything from the extensive Fancy Pink Tea List, iced tea, tea lattes or boba, you'll see why people make special trips solely for tea. Only something truly delicious would have people turn up for tea. I mean, seriously. It's gone from a forgotten beverage to the main event.

Should you ever find yourself in West Hollywood, wander on in. I'll be looking for your Instagram (or it didn't happen).
